Announcement posted by CTVMA 10 Oct 2024
From January 2026, all connected TV devices sold in Australia must comply with new TV prominence rules. These are designed to make it easier for Australians to access free-to-air services and apps on smart TVs.
Join our panel of expert speakers as we discuss the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) powers to bring in and oversee the TV prominence framework to determine which smart TV devices must comply with the minimum prominence requirements on home screens and how TV services will be deemed to have been 'offered' for installation on smart TVs.
Our panel will also examine the new Anti-Siphoning list of events and the right of FTA broadcasters to acquire both free to air and digital rights to televise sporting events on Free Ad-supported Streaming TV (FAST) channels and Broadcast Video on Demand (BVOD) apps.
Panellists:
Bridget Fair GAICD, Chief Executive Officer, Free TV Australia
James Grant Hay, Executive Director, CTVMA
Tickets to Future of Australian Content: Anti-Siphoning and Prominence will take place at 6:30 PM AEST on Wednesday 30th October at Ashurst Level 11/5 Martin Place, Sydney will be live-streamed, followed by networking drinks.
