Australia’s highly acclaimed Australia Independent Film Festival is back bigger and better this October.

     Located in Brisbane Australia at one of Australia's coolest venues within one of Brisbane's coolest art precincts is the internationally recognised Australia Independent Film Festival.

"Brisbane is home to so much creative talent and we're proud to be sponsoring the Australia Independent Film Festival and SEQ Future Stars, so today's students have the opportunity to be globally renowned filmmakers tomorrow." The Right Honourable, the Lord Mayor of Brisbane, Councillor Adrian Schrinner.

 

The 2024 programme Includes a mixture of local, national, international and world premieres, festival attendees will enjoy a fully curated program of stela short form documentaries, animations, experimental, and drama films. There is sure to be something that pleases everyone.

AIFF 2024 begins with a bang. Join the opening night celebrations as we start our film journey in Queensland, travel around the world with some of the best international shorts, and finish here at home again. AIFF is proud to present a screening session of the very best short films from Southeast Queensland high school STUDENTS in Grades 10 to 12. In a first for a SEQ STUDENT film festival category a panel of industry professionals and respected community members will adjudicate each finalist film as it is live screened. The session will conclude with a very special awards ceremony.

Films may contain some coarse language, implied drug usage, nudity and or some mild violence and are recommended for a mature aged audience. Please see individual sessions for age recommendations.
