Hughes Celebrates 120 Years of Driving Australia

Sydney 04/07/24 - Hughes - Australia's Chauffeur Service, proudly commemorates its 120th anniversary, marking over a century of providing exceptional transportation services. Established in 1904, Hughes has grown to become the longest-serving chauffeur company in the country, renowned for its seamless and premium travel experiences.
To honour this significant milestone, Hughes hosted grand anniversary celebrations in Sydney and Melbourne, bringing together clients, travel industry professionals, tenured chauffeurs, staff and media.
The Sydney celebration was held at Hyde Hacienda Bar, offering spectacular views of Sydney Harbour. Over 100 guests enjoyed an evening filled with cocktails, canapés, and lively conversations with waitstaff adorned in traditional chauffeur caps. During the celebration, CEO Kent Joseph expressed his gratitude to clients and staff for their unwavering dedication.
“I am incredibly proud to be leading such a passionate and visionary team,” said Kent Joseph. “It's phenomenal to reflect upon the many iterations of this business, and to see how far we have come in recent times. What’s even more exciting is where we are heading.”
Fleet Controller, Ian Holmes received a special recognition for his 30 years of service, and other chauffeurs with over ten years of service were also warmly acknowledged. 
The preceding Melbourne celebration boasted an equally impressive turnout, overlooking sweeping views of the city skyline at the Strato Rooftop, reflecting the company's nationwide impact and its unwavering commitment to excellence.
Hughes was founded in Melbourne in 1904, during the horse-and-cart era and the company has since expanded to nine offices across Australia, conducting over 1.2 million transfers a year.
Hughes works with some of the biggest names in the travel industry, partnering closely with all major airlines, and having preferred status with many major travel groups. The company's commitment to providing outstanding service has solidified its reputation as Australia's leading chauffeur service.
