In an Australian-first product launch, Richmond Rolling Robotics has unveiled the latest breakthrough in automation technology to help warehouses, distribution centres and retailers with their material handling and logistics challenges.
The new Flex 60-T is a cutting-edge Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) equipped with an advanced docking and towing system designed exclusively for Australian Standard logistic trolleys and roll cages.
Similar to forklifts and pallet jacks, logistic trolleys play an integral role in transporting heavy products and equipment around many workplaces.
From the thousands of online orders that need to be picked and packed everyday to transport and logistics companies that move heavy pieces of equipment and components.
However, for many Australian businesses the traditional handling method involves a large amount of strenuous manual labour which risks the health and safety of workers and reduces overall productivity.
Revolutionising material handling in Australia
The development of the Flex 60-T is the result of a successful collaboration with global AMR leader ForwardX Robotics to address specific challenges in Australia.
“Typically, logistic trolleys and roll cages have been manually transported throughout the warehouse, posing a significant safety risk while also limiting productivity,” said Breon Winslow-Moore, CEO of Richmond Rolling Solutions.
“The Flex 60-T solves a range of challenges in one convenient set-up. Not only does it provide a safer work environment by eliminating manual labour, but it optimises workflows and reduces operational costs.”
On top of an impressive maximum towing capacity of 400kg, the new AMR also features state-of-the-art multi-sensor fusion technology, visual SLAM navigation, and 180-degree obstacle detection and avoidance - ensuring a highly secure, efficient, and obstacle-free solution.
These smart warehousing solutions are set to revolutionise logistic operations in manufacturing, distribution centres, retail, hospitals, supermarkets, and hospitality workplaces.
“AMRs like the Flex 60-T represent a unique opportunity for ambitious business owners in Australia,” said Breon Winslow-Moore. “Rather than thinking of them as replacing your staff, they can instead lead to job creation through innovation and become a vital part of your future workforce.”
