Announcement posted by Impressions Marketing Communications 04 Jul 2023
The Tasmanian Bass Strait Central Zone Scallop Fishery season is opening 8th July and Hursey Seafoods restaurant in Stanley, on Tasmania’s rugged North West coast is gearing up to shuck and showcase this special treat.
Hursey’s began searching for the best scallop beds from April this year and they have been delighted with the quality of the seafood delicacies that they have discovered so far. With orange roe and a glossy meat, Tasmanian scallops have a beautiful shape and presentation. The pristine waters of Tasmania’s coastline are ideal for the growth of world class scallops and Hursey’s are renowned for offering the best and most succulent of this sought after seafood.
Hursey Seafoods, a leading seafood supplier and fishmonger, is thrilled to announce its newest offering for the first month of the season, from 8th July to 5th August – a Scallop Celebration. The month-long celebration of the beloved seafood, Hursey’s will offer the freshest and finest scallops available in the market, along with signature dishes created by the seafood haven's new head chef, Adam Giddings.
Known for its commitment to providing the highest quality seafood, Hursey Seafoods is excited to highlight the versatility and deliciousness of scallops. As part of the celebration, kicking off with food and tunes by local Jeff Power on the evening of the 8th July, customers will be treated to specials on scallop dishes in addition to the normal menu through to 5th August.
"We know how much our customers love scallops, and we want to celebrate this amazing seafood by showcasing the best quality scallops in our restaurant. And what better way to highlight them than by having a month-long celebration?" says Mark Hursey of Hursey Seafoods. "We're also very excited to introduce head chef Adam's culinary talent to our customers. He has been working tirelessly to create exciting new dishes that will display the versatility of scallops. You don't want to miss out on these signature dishes."
For those who are keen to try scallops with a difference, Hursey Seafoods signature entrée special for the month of July will highlight a taster of scallops with three variations. Hursey’s seafoods has fine Tasmanian wines to match with the signature scallop special and Darren McKenna, wine afficionado of David Johnstone & Associates, one of Tasmania’s leading fine wine distribution companies, suggests pairing the scallops on offer with 2020 Pressing Matters R9 Riesling.
Chef Adam, who has over twenty years of experience in the hospitality industry, is thrilled to be part of Hursey Seafood's team. "I'm excited to be working with the team at Hursey Seafoods and putting my twist on some classic scallop dishes. I'll be working with some locally sourced ingredients and creating dishes that truly celebrate the delicious seafood we have right here in Stanley." Adam trained in the UK and has spent over a decade working in Western Australia, most recently at award-winning restaurants Young George and Ethos Deli & Dining Room.
Adam is enjoying the fresh produce on offer in the North West of Tasmania and is sure that the month-long celebration of scallops at Hursey Seafoods will be a hit among travelling seafood lovers and locals alike.
