As of July 3rd, 2023, Eagers Automotive has increased its stake in the joint-venture retail partnership, EV Dealer Group. EV Dealer Group is the retail and after-sales entity for Australian BYD customers trading as BYDAutomotive.com.au.

With this investment, EVDirect.com will have additional capital to deploy and invest in further enhancing the already best in class, EV manufacturing, logistics and supply chain processes established in partnership with BYD for the Australian market.
EVDirect.com CEO Luke Todd commented: "The first year of deliveries of BYD products has been highly successful and unprecedented by volume and nationwide expansion. With four more BYD models slated for release and delivery in Australia by the end of 2024, the BYD brand will continue its exponential growth. With demand for the BYD product range increasing, the company is investing further to meet mass supply demand. It will be launching dedicated BYD Service and Fulfilment Centres. The first, located at Mascot in NSW, is set to open in August 2023. The Mascot site alone can prepare cars from seaport to customer handover at a rate of 100 vehicles daily.
At a retail level, the company announces 'BYD Megastore' launches in Sydney and Brisbane in early Spring 2023. The BYD Megastore concept heralds a new era of automotive retail, providing customers with an immersive and educational experience into the BYD brand and product range. As electric vehicle demand is now moving to mainstream for Australian consumers, we are introducing a world first in automotive retailing and will make it easier for consumers to transition to cleaner and more economical transport options.”
