Scholastic Australia is proud to announce the release of a brand-new children’s book series, Diary of a Netball Star on May 1, 2023.

Diary of a Netball Star #1 Netball Newbie is the first title in an all-new series written by Liz Watson, with award-winning author, Fiona Harris and illustrated by Laura Wood.  Meet 10-year-old Liz as she tries netball for the first time and falls in love with the game. Exploring themes of family, friendship, overcoming challenges and working as a team Diary of a Netball Star will be loved by young readers and netball fans alike.

‘I am very excited about the release of my book. To be able to share how I started playing netball in a fun way and hopefully encourage and inspire young kids to get involved in sport is very exciting’ says Liz.

Andrew Berkhut Head of Publishing for Scholastic Australia commented that 'We are so delighted to work with Liz, who is not only a talented netball player, but also a wonderful and positive example to young people. It has been immense fun bringing some of her experiences to life in this fictional series, based on her as a child. We hope it will engage and encourage young readers, particularly those with a love of sport.'
