The Globe needs Great Role Models for our Generations of Today and Tomorrow

Inspiring others is Sonia's calling. Heart warming, inspirational, funny, real and a courage and leadership crusader are the words her audience and clients call her. Sonia feels her leadership story began 17 years ago where she followed her husband's career to move overseas. Devastatingly she was left alone in a foreign country as a full time single mother and little money to her name.  She knew she needed to come home and it was even tougher (and soul destroying to be honest and she refused to let it define her) to start again. She was beyond fearless in supporting her daughter and building a new life for them. Even more heart breaking was watching her daughter at 13 years old suffer debilitating mental health challenges due to severe bullying and nearly losing everything she loved. She had to call onto every ounce of her courage and leadership.

Today is now she is the CEO of two companies, award winning author of three books (4th is coming soon!), founder of the Outstanding Leadership Awards, one of the Australia's leading entrepreneurs, a global keynote speaker, leading executive coach and mum to an extraordinary daughter called Abby.

Today, LeadershipHQ and Outstanding Leadership Awards Founder Sonia McDonald has called on the world to prioritise championing and developing great leadership, in order for the generations of today and tomorrow to reach their true potential.

This includes supporting this incredible platform now in it's 3rd year - 2023 Global Outstanding Leadership Awards, which shines a spotlight on leaders from across the globe and recognises these leaders for their outstanding achievements, contributions, and abilities on a world stage.

The awards have also become a source of inspiration for people who have dreamed of one day stepping into a leadership role.

The winners for the 2022 Outstanding Leadership Awards were announced on 30th July 2022 with over 250 in the room and over 100 finalists. It was a night and event that made a difference to 100's of lives.

Sonia McDonald said the leadership awards were essential for developing the leaders of today and tomorrow.

“The world needs kind, courageous and inclusive leaders more than ever,” she said.

McDonald revealed that it was her daughter’s own journey of courage that made her realise the importance of the power of leadership, and the role it will play in the lives of the generations of today and tomorrow.

The Outstanding Leadership Awards was born as a result of Sonia’s daughter’s courageous story and as a way to recognise the contributions leaders made to the world.

"These awards recognise the leadership qualities I value the most: contribution to ones community, courage, kindness and making a real difference to others. These awards stand out because they make a statement about what type of leadership we want and need today to make the world a better place. Being recognised as the overall winner of the Outstanding Leadership Awards was an extraordinarily humbling experience and affirmation that leadership has many faces. All the finalists were champions, and it was a privilege to stand alongside them. I highly recommend entering the Outstanding Leadership Awards as a way to ensure empathic, value-led leadership remains strong and rewarded.” Adjunct Professor Kylie Ward, CEO of Australian College of Nursing

HERE ARE THE 2022 WINNERS

About the Outstanding Leadership Awards

The Outstanding Leadership Awards are the embodiment of a dream that commenced more than 20 years ago when we began working to help organisations and individuals achieve their leadership potential.

As we move into a new decade, we are taking with us a legacy of change. Leadership across the globe has been evolving rapidly over the past three years and LeadershipHQ is continuing to be at the forefront of that change. To bring you these awards we are partnering with companies whose culture rewards and fosters kind and courageous leadership.

The Outstanding Leadership Awards are about championing leaders across organisations who make diversity, inclusion and kindness part of their day to day culture. They are leaders who have courageous conversations and strive to lead by example. They are leaders that make employees happy to come to work each day because they feel valued. Above all, they are the leader whose example others strive to replicate and who are changing the face of leadership.

By demonstrating and rewarding this type of leadership, we are encouraging leaders now and, in the future, to strive to epitomise these values. We welcome all nominations no matter the size or type of the business or organisation. Leadership HQ encourages you to nominate leaders you feel embody these leadership attributes each and every day.

2023 Awards will are live-streamed as well as being held on 2nd September 2023 in Melbourne.  - https://www.outstandingleadershipawards.com.au/
