New World Record achieved by World's Greatest Freakshow star

Friday, 26 August, 2022: Townsville, Queensland, Australia - A new world record was achieved today in regional Queensland when strongman performer The Great Gordo Gamsby used a chainsaw to cut thirty (30) apples from his own mouth in one minute.
The daring stunt was staged in Townsville at The Ville Resort-Casino where Gordo, currently on tour in Australia with The World’s Greatest Freakshow, beat the previous record of 28 apples which was held by Wang Lei from China. The Guiness World Records title for ‘most apples held in own mouth and cut by chainsaw in one minute’ had been held by Gordo himself until Lei beat his record in November, 2020.
Gordo was cheered on by his cast mates from The World’s Greatest Freakshow, with the show’s Creative Director and MC counting the apples, while glass eating and body stapling queen, Aleksandra The Great kept time.
Although he hadn’t performed the apple/chainsaw stunt for a while, Gordo warmed up for the media cameras, at first cutting just 21 apples from his mouth in the allocated minute. Then he rose to the occasion and excelled with the unbelievable amount of thirty apples in one nail biting minute.
The day was not without drama. Gordo’s chainsaw clipped his glasses, resulting in a … let’s say a close shave … to his face, but the elated title winner was unfazed.
Says Gordo, ‘With my World’s Greatest Freakshow crew behind me, I was thrilled to take that record back and raise it by two apples, bringing the title home to convict shores.’
The Great Gordo Gamsby and his freaky cast mates can be seen in regional and metro venues across Queensland and New South Wales when The World’s Greatest Freakshow continues to tour throughout August and September.
