Manual Handling Training

Announcement posted by Community Therapy 01 Mar 2022

Online training for community aged care and disability workforces

Community Aged Care and NDIS providers face a myriad of barriers in order to deliver consistent manual handling training to their workforce.

COVID-19 added an additional barrier to many barriers that already existed such as:
- award minimum shift lengths
- geographical logistics
- availability of training rooms
- availability of equipment
- workforce shortages

Community Therapy is a mobile allied health provider supporting older adults and people living with disabilities across the Central Coast and Hunter New England Health Districts of NSW.

During COVID-19, many local aged care and NDIS providers were approaching Community Therapy requesting telehealth Manual Handling training.

Community Therapy's leadership team responded by developing an online manual handling training program for community aged care and NDIS providers.

Community Therapy is able to onboard an unlimited amount of users at a time to its online training system and organisations are able to access a reporting tool to monitor staff member training completion.

The course is delivered in bite sized modules which saves a users progress, allowing them to complete in down time during a shift.

Community Therapy continues to onboard new organisations onto the training and bulk enrolment discounts are available.
