The Rapid Relief Team (RRT) donated 3,000 Comfort Snack Packs to 35 hubs under the Child and Adolescent Health Service, including the Perth Children’s Hospital over the last week.
RRT volunteers set out to spread Christmas cheer, and bring joy through the Comfort Snack Packs which contain a variety of tasty goodies, including nutrition bars, fruit cups, cheese and crackers, and some sweets.
“The health workers at the Child and Adolescent Health Service are the unsung heroes in our community,” RRT Regional Team Leader for Western Australia, Alex Sharpe said.
“The Comfort Snack Packs are a small token of our appreciation, and we hope it gives them the energy boost they need to keep volunteering their time.
“Christmas is just around the corner, so we’ve also thrown in a candy cane to bring some festive cheer to the packs.
“We’d also like to thank all the healthcare workers who have kept us safe during this pandemic – your courage and commitment to helping your patients is admirable.” Mr Sharpe said.
“We are delighted that RRT has kindly donated these packs to our staff working in community sites across the Perth metropolitan area,” said Dr Aresh Anwar, Chief Executive of Child and Adolescent Health Service.
“I would like to thank RRT for their support".
RRT supports hundreds of flood, fire and drought rescue efforts each year, and assists the healthcare system through donating Food Boxes and other supplies where required.
The Plymouth Brethren Christian Church established RRT in 2013 to express its principles of care and compassion. It is staffed by Church volunteers who provide catering services at a range of charitable events and emergencies.
Globally, the RRT has more than 14,500 volunteers and operates in Australia, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, France, the United States, Canada and Germany.
