GT Communications marks one year in Sydney, celebrates a surge of new client and adds three new consultants
Announcement posted by GT Communications 18 Nov 2021
Independent corporate communications and PR agency, GT Communications has celebrated the first anniversary of its Sydney office with three new hires across the business, to support a surge in new client wins and expansion of existing scopes.
Founder and Executive Director of GT Communications, Gemma Tognini said the agency had grown, adapted and thrived through Covid, with the risk of opening a Sydney office mid-way through the pandemic, clearly paying off.
“We felt very strongly, before Covid, that this was the right move, and the market has certainly validated that view. It has been a challenging yet incredibly rewarding first 12 months for our Sydney practice.” Ms. Tognini said.
“The range, complexity and nature of scopes we have secured in the past six months is a testament to the fact that there is still a strong appetite for clear and authentic communications backed by strong strategic understanding. We foresee strong growth in both our offices into the new year.”
Kelly Oversby joins as Lead Advisor for the Perth office with a focus on B2B and corporate clients. Kelly has more than two decades experience in PR, media and marketing consulting having operated her own boutique consultancy for 12 years and managed APAC marcoms in-house for a multinational corporation. Her sector knowledge spans construction, mining, not-for-profit and Indigenous affairs.
Katie Rodwell joins as Senior Advisor in the Perth office with a focus on B2C and reputation management. Katie has spent nearly 20 years running high impact PR campaigns in both agency and in-house teams across Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas, consulting across a range of industries including financial services, technology, telecoms, travel and tourism, and professional services. She has previously worked with American Express, Toyota, Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Australian Paralympic Committee, British Telecom, Motorola, Robert Half International and Virgin Money.
Emilie Dye joins as Advisor in the Sydney Office working across client portfolios focused on corporate communications, advocacy, policy development, issues management, and media relations. Emilie moved to Australia from Washington DC after graduating from the George Washington University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. She spent two years at the Australian Taxpayers’ Alliance where she quickly rose through the ranks to become Policy Director. Her editorial work appears in the Spectator Australia, the Daily Telegraph, the Canberra Times, and the Australian Financial Review among other publications.
Ms Tognini said the agency is also pleased to welcome a number of new clients across a range of industries as strategic partners. Organisations including The Sydney Harbour Federation Trust, commercial and industrial property group, Goodman, leading national property group Investa, safety boot manufacturer Steel Blue and luxury hotel Pan Pacific Perth.
“There is a real momentum, which after 18 years in business is really special to still be experiencing, and we expect to announce at least another two new hires in Sydney and Perth this year.”
Additionally, the agency has partnered with one of Australia’s most recognized media professionals, ex Seven Network senior anchor Paula Voce, to bolster its media training services and meet increased demand for this specialised service.
