Wunderman Thompson hires partner for Sydney office

The post was formed to address Wunderman Thompson’s strengthening of data, technology and CX offerings. Kelly was hired for the post on account of his CX work at Publicis Sapient, where he worked for three years. He was also Deloitte Digital’s senior manager for product and business strategy from 2013 to 2016.

“I’m delighted to be joining Wunderman Thompson at a pivotal point in the evolution of the business. I’m excited to take what is a really compelling data and experience proposition to clients; helping them to transform and grow their businesses in APAC,” said Kelly of his new job.

Popular Aussie coffee brand Seven Miles Coffee Roasters has chosen History Will Be Kind as its PR agency of record.

Liquid Ideas announces new hospitality clients

Independent communications lifestyle agency Liquid Ideas is kicking off the week with a new batch of hospitality clients.

Organisers of the Noosa Food & Wine Festival have contracted the agency to lead promotions for the upcoming edition in May 2020, as a rebrand called Noosa Eat & Drink. The work will involve organising consumer events for the run-up and assembling the festival program.

For the Jetty Road Brewery and Nicaraguan company Flor de Caña, Liquid Ideas was tapped to organise an invitation-only launch at Restaurant Hubert for the premium V Generaciones rum. 

Liquid Ideas will run PR, influencer campaigns, and event seeding for Lyre’s non-alcoholic drinks and the Antipodes Sparkling Water line.

Theory Crew earns Dilmah gig

Melbourne agency Theory Crew has won a new client partnership with international tea brand Dilmah.

The new deal calls for Theory Crew to run PR and influencer work with Dilmah’s local and international marketing teams. 

Established in Sri Lanka back in 1988, Dilmah is best known among Australian dining establishments as a supplier of pure Ceylon tea. 

“Dilmah is doing incredible things both with its products and philanthropy and we’re proud to be partnering with this iconic brand,” said Theory Crew founder/managing director Felicity Grey.

Landor refreshes EVENT Cinemas

Brand agency Landor has rolled out an all-new image for movie theatre company EVENT Cinemas.

The branding is centred around a main black and white motif but has different coloured elements (pictured) signifying the varied experiences that await audiences. Motion studio Never Sit Still also aided Landor with creating visual elements for the branding. The new branding for EVENT Cinemas includes new visual materials, a communications strategy, motion and sound designs. 

The EVENT Cinemas rebrand is part of a larger partnership between Landor and EVENT Cinemas’ parent company, Event Hospitality & Entertainment Ltd.

Zadro Agency adds fresh staff

The Zadro Agency is finishing 2019 with new personnel on deck. 

Simone Gur joins the agency leadership team as account director. She sports over 15 years’ experience in account management, B2B, and branding functions, most of them at Blaze Advertising and McCann Worldgroup Sydney.

Yvette Schlegelmilch is in the mix as account manager and Gabrielle Dixon as national PR/marketing manager, supporting senior account managers Julie Donovan and Jessica McLean.

Schlegelmilch came in from almost two years’ service with Blackie McDonald, where she handled tech clients as senior account executive and later as account manager. She has also run PR and marketing duties in other industries, such as fashion and non-profit.

Dixon signed up after finishing three years at IQPC, two of which as marketing manager based in New York City. Her campaign experience runs the gamut from CX, real-estate, finance, and the defence contractor industry.

Braaksma moves up at Landor

WPP AUNZ member-agency Landor Australia has promoted Eeke Braaksma. 

The agency announced this week that Braaksma is moving up from senior client manager to client director. He will also transfer to Landor’s Melbourne office and work alongside GM Jessica Murphy, with campaigns lined up including Saputo Dairy Australia and The Royal Agriculture Society of Victoria. However, he will be called up to consult the Sydney team on their campaigns.

Braaksma is already a seasoned hand in the Landor organisation with seven years under his belt. Before joining the Sydney office in 2016, he was assigned to Landor’s branches in Hamburg, Sao Paulo, Singapore, and Moscow.

He comes to the agency fresh off an 18-month run as account director at N2N Communications and also handled campaigns at Sling & Stone and Elton Consulting. Campaigns Radestock has handled include those for a leading credit-card company, a breakfast cereal brand, and a major British auto manufacturer.
