Total News readership remains stable

The research conducted by Roy Morgan for ThinkNewsBrands found that 20.5 million Australians consumed news in a four-week period, up 0.8 per cent. That equates to 97 per cent of Australians over the age of 14, which was the survey demographic. Digital news sites recorded a 3.1 per cent increase while print was down 11.8 per cent compared to the previous year.
ThinkNewsBrands General Manager Vanessa Lyons said that 18.9 million Australians read news in a week according to Roy Morgan data, which is "more than the number of people consuming milk, drinking coffee or logging into Facebook."
