The Australian, Daily Telegraph lead News Awards

For The Australian, editor-at-large Paul Kelly was bestowed the Achievement in Opinion and Commentary award for his authoritative insights in global affairs and politics. National chief correspondent Hedley Thomas’ work in the podcast series The Teacher’s Pet earned him the Innovation in Storytelling award. Will Glasgow and Christine Lacy scored the Keith McDonald Business Journalist of the Year award for heavy coverage of the business community through the Margin Call section. Jon Kudelka was recognised as Bill Leak Cartoonist of the Year and Richard Ferguson was called as one of three Young Journalists of the Year.
