Publicis wins Mars’ global media mandate, ending WPP’s run

The French network will manage media, production, commerce, paid social and influencer marketing across 70+ markets through a new unit called “OneMars.”
Meanwhile, Mars has awarded its global brand PR duties to IPG’s Weber Shandwick Collective. Creative, currently with BBDO and DDB (Omnicom), remains unchanged.
“We’re putting our fans and communities in the driver’s seat,” said Gülen Bengi, Mars' CMO and growth chief, calling the new agency model key to delivering brand experiences at scale.

As Australian Traveller magazine marks its 20th anniversary, co-founder and Managing Director Quentin Long reflects on a journey that began with a simple flight to Broome and evolved into one of Australia's leading travel publications.
"Where I started 20 years ago and where I am now are completely poles apart from where I thought I would be," Long admits.
The initial dream of quick success and Porsche ownership gave way to a more nuanced understanding of publishing in the digital age.
Long's path to travel journalism was unconventional.
“I took a gap year when I was 18, because from the age of 14 all I wanted to do was get the hell off this island. I came from a large family. I'm one of six kids. And when we all turned 18, we got around the world ticket. And so I took mine straight away and buzzed off."

MIB advises MSOs to submit CAS and SMS details by June 20

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has issued an advisory to all registered Multi System Operators (MSOs) to furnish the requisite information of their Conditional Access System (CAS) and Subscriber Management System (SMS) to the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) by June 20, 2025.
The advisory follows a directive from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) that had amended the Telecommunication (Broadcasting and Cable) Services Interconnection (Addressable Systems) Regulations, 2017.

Reuters Digital News Report reveals ‘alternative media ecosystem emerging’

The Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism annual Digital News Report for 2025 has just been released and reveals social media use overtook TV for the first time and news consumption on platforms is supercharging the rise of news influencers.
Authored by Nic Newman, Amy Ross Arguedas, Craig T. Robertson, Rasmus Nielsen and Richard Fletcher, the report is based on an online survey of almost 100,000 people in 48 markets and is the most comprehensive study of news consumption worldwide. Here are five key findings from this year’s report:
