Trent Thomas, the managing director and publisher of Mediaweek, has stepped back from his role following allegations of sexual harassment against female staff members. According to AFR, Mediaweek engaged independent HR consultants to investigate and address concerns brought by two employees, implementing a prevention and response plan, HR training, and robust HR guidelines to eliminate unlawful conduct in the workplace. Following the investigation, it was revealed that Thomas cut ties with one external HR firm investigating complaints of his alleged inappropriate conduct. A second HR firm later concluded it was “more likely than not” that Thomas had bullied and sexually harassed a team member. AFR further detailed that Thomas reportedly engaged in inappropriate conversations about his relationships, sharing sexually explicit content, and revealing personal information about staff members. Veteran Journalist Ajay Upadhyay passes away

Ajay Upadhyay, a senior journalist and former editor-in-chief of the Hindi daily ‘Hindustan’ died of cardiac arrest in Varanasi on Saturday evening. He was 66.   Press Club of India shared a note of condolence on X: “We are sorry to hear about the passing away of veteran journalist Ajay Upadhyay.   On Sunday morning, the son of a Shiv Sena politician allegedly hit a motorcycle with his BMW throwing the two-wheeler driver off the road. The victim’s wife who was riding pillion flew off the bike and landed on the bonnet of the luxury car. Yet, the driver continued to drive the vehicle dragging the victim for another two kilometres or so (the actual distance varies in different reports) before she fell off the bonnet. The motorists continued to drive without checking to help the victim, who was later rushed to a hospital by bystanders.    Investigation revealed that the vehicle was owned by Rajesh Shah, a Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) leader from Palghar district. According to reports, his son Mihir (24) was driving the vehicle while their driver was with him.
