Nine’s journos voice EBA negotiations on Twitter
By Neeraja Gopalakrishnan in Media News on Wednesday, 31st August 2022 at 8:19pmNine’s journalists have taken to Twitter their demand for a better deal in EBA negotiations, while one of them from The Age has quit tweeting the reasons for industrial action are “in part behind it”.
The Age’s sunday reporter Chloe Booker tweeted that she is leaving the publication saying young journalists and freelancers want “better-guaranteed career progression”.
“While my decision is multifaceted, the reasons for our industrial action are in part behind it,” Booker said.
Members of the Media, Entertainment & Arts Alliance (MEAA) across Nine’s titles Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, The Australian Financial Review, Brisbane Times, and WA Today are using the hashtag #FairShareNine on the social media platform to voice their displeasure with the company.
