New beginning for Norris at Broadsheet

Norris announced on her Instagram account that she was stepping down from Pacific + and Voyeur Magazine and that the November 2017 issue would be her last.
Norris wields nearly 20 years of journalism experience, starting with an editorial assistant gig at the Australian Financial Review in 1999. Her assignments over the succeeding years included writing or editing at outfits such as the Writing Den, the Sydney Morning Herald, and Property Australia before joining Pacific + in June 2013.

Maguire to edit SMH and The Age

Fairfax Media’s Tory Maguire has become the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age’s new national editor.
Maguire landed the assignment following the end of HuffPost Australia’s partnership with Fairfax Media late last year. She was the HuffPost’s editor-in-chief for two years.
Her remit now covers federal politics, business and international coverage for the above papers. She is slated to begin on April 16, 2018, and will report to Australian Metro Publishing group executive editor James Chessell.
“Tory is an outstanding journalist with around two decades’ experience editing and reporting news and federal politics. She is a proven leader in digital publishing with an excellent track record of leading newsrooms and producing engaging journalism. Our newsrooms will benefit greatly from Tory’s expertise,” said Chessell.

John Stensholt is coming to The Australian as a new staff member, wrapping up nearly 20 years with Fairfax Media.
He confirmed his impending exit in a Tweet earlier this month. The Australian confirmed that Stensholt will be assigned to a project currently codenamed “The Stensholt Index”.
He is best known in Fairfax Media for reporting for the Australian Financial Review and editing the paper’s Rich List.

Daisy Doctor has started a new reporter job at B&T magazine.
Doctor came over from Travel Weekly, where she recently finished up six months as online editor.

Shine comes back to ABC News

Tyson Shine is working once more at ABC.
The network stated that Shine is a supervising producer with the Sydney bureau. He signed on recently after returning from Qatar, where he had spent the past year as correspondent at Al-Jazeera English. He left ABC in 2015 to start with Al-Jazeera in London.

Daniel Ziffer (pictured, left) has started TV reporting duties for ABC Melbourne.
Ziffer recently stood down from six years of being a senior producer at 774 ABC Radio’s Mornings with Jon Faine, turning the job over to Katrina Palmer. He will now tackle the Melbourne business community and also report on national news for ABC’s The Business and the 7PM news show.

Bauer Media reveals Audience Development squad

Bauer Media’s digital content for the women’s lifestyle and fashion front are set for increased direction with the announcement of a new audience development team.
The company stated that Annabel Hodges will helm the team as Audience Development Director, with her remit focusing on boosting the company's digital growth strategy. New senior social media editor Jennifer Kang, who is tasked with handling social media campaigns and content, will report to her.
Nikki Chowdhury will be the team co-ordinator, reporting to both Kang and Hodges.
Monica De Luna will manage email/newsletter marketing strategy as audience development manager.
