Former Deloitte comms boss joins FCR

Vessa Playfair, a former long-time head of corporate affairs and communications at Deloitte Australia, has joined forces with financial and corporate comms consultancy FCR.

Playfair had been operating her own consultancy Playfair PR, but has now linked up with FCR, having trialed the arrangement over the past few months.

“Working with a team deep in corporate, issues and investor relations expertise including design, digital and publications under veteran leader Anthony Tregoning, is allowing me to provide experienced high level strategic communications, and public relations advice to new clients across Australia and Asia and Africa,” Playfair wrote on her LinkedIn profile.

Playfair spent 16 years as head of Corporate Affairs at Deloitte Australia, before returning to consultancy as a director of Cannings Purple in 2015. She also re-launched Playfair PR in recent years, after first operating the business between 1984 and 2000.

FCR managing director Anthony Tregoning said of Playfair’s appointment: “Vessa brings a wealth of experience and expertise to FCR, including her history in managing complex stakeholder communication. With a strong network of business, financial and political media, she is a valuable contribution to the team”.

Additionally, FCR have appointed Gemma Yeates, a former employee of Credit Suisse and Nomura, as a client relationship manager, with Tregoning highlighting her “industry experience and strong network”.
