FitzSimons joins ABC

The ABC has recruited veteran Fairfax Media man Peter FitzSimons to be part of the crew.
FitzSimons will be tasked as a guest reporter on ABC’s Foreign Correspondent, with his assignment being flying to New Zealand to interview one of the 1,300 Kiwis deported from Australia per changes to the Migration Act. He will also discuss the issue with Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton. The episode is slated to air next week.
FitzSimons is currently covering the international sports scene for various outlets. Although his guest reporter assignment is a paid one-off opportunity, he told The Australian’s Stephen Brook that he is donating the paycheque to charity.
