The Washington Post has announced that Anna Fifield will be returning to the masthead as Asia-Pacific editor.
“Anna brings an extraordinary reservoir of experience, knowledge, irreverence and energy to everything she does, and it makes her an ideal fit for this new role,” foreign editor Douglas Jehl and deputy foreign editor Jennifer Amur said in a statement.
Fifield will oversee coverage of a region increasingly shaped by China, leading a team that includes correspondents responsible for China, Japan, the Koreas, Australia, NZ and the Pacific, while also working in close partnership with editors in Washington to drive other lines of China-related coverage.
Prior to joining the newspaper, she was an editor of the Dominion Post for the past two years.
