The Australian Financial Review has announced the expansion of the masthead’s coverage of companies, markets and property with new hires and promotions.  The masthead enhances the coverage of companies, markets and property under the leadership of deputy editor, business Kylar Loussikian and companies editor Vesna Poljak. Primrose Riordan will join the masthead as a companies reporter to focus on private companies and family offices after working for four years as South China Correspondent at the Financial Times in Hong Kong.  Riordan has previously been with the Australian as a foreign affairs and trade reporter for more than two years and a political reporter at The AFR for three years. She begins in July. Joining the AFR as a deputy companies editor in July will be Emily Day from The Age, where she is currently deputy opinion editor. Thompson departs TechDay

Journalist Zach Thompson (pictured) has left his position as News Editor at TechDay, leaving the specialist publisher room to hire Kaleah Salmon.  Thompson had been with the outlet since January 2022, wrapping up his tenure with eighteen months of experience, and is now looking for his next role.  “Truthfully, I'm unsure at this stage what my next position might look like - all I know is I'll be following my passions!” said Thompson.  Tech Day has since brought on Kaleah Salmon. David Koch departs Sunrise after two decades

Australia’s longest-serving breakfast host David “Kochie” Koch has announced that he will step down from Seven’s breakfast program Sunrise after 21 years at the helm.  In a long LinkedIn post, Kochie said that after over 5300 shows and 16,000 hours of live TV, it is time to have a “bit of flexibility” to focus on his family business, Pinstripe Media.  “I have loved every single minute. And I'm incredibly proud of what we've achieved over the last 21 years,” he said.  "I've been privileged to experience so many adventures, to meet so many incredible people and to cover so many moments of history in the making. CEO of Great Southern Land Media, John Williams has announced that he will step down from his role and General Sales Manager Simon Rub will take over the reins.  In a LinkedIn post, 92.7 MixFM and 91.9 SeaFM posted the departure of Williams as he reflected that it is the “perfect time” to begin his next adventure.  “There is still a lot more to achieve in the media and in the community. I’m also looking forward to working on some specific projects for GSL Media.  “My time with 92.7 MIX FM and 91.9 SEA FM have been some of the best times of my life and career.
