Baidawi to helm GQ Mideast edition

Scheduled for launch next month, GQ Middle East is being published under a partnership between parent firm Conde Nast and the ITP Media Group.
Baidawi is moving to Dubai, UAE, to start working with the new team, which also includes staff handling a bilingual website and social media accounts.
The move is also a return to roots, as Baidawi was born in Abu Dhabi to Iraqi parents then later grew up in Australia. At the time of his appointment, he had been writing and taking pictures for GQ Australia and also worked as the New York Times’ Australia correspondent. He is also GQ’s youngest EIC to date, at 28 years old.
