ME Bank is opening a new PR manager role, based in Melbourne. The position will be on a six-month contract.

The PR manager will be in charge of both media and stakeholder communications for the bank, primarily focusing on traditional media platforms, customers, and partner bodies. The object will be to generate positive brand awareness for the bank and its services.

Candidates must be Australian citizens and permanent residents with sufficient experience in PR and communications, most particularly in a business or financial services environment. They should have a firm grasp of PR management and have an array of media contacts.

Background checks including bankruptcy, ASIC, and police will be mandated.

The Port of Townsville is on the market for a corporate affairs/capital works PR officer.

The person will be in charge of executing the Port’s Corporate Affairs Strategic Plan under the aegis of the manager for corporate affairs.

The duties will include creating media releases, social media posts, and other associated content; organising official events and VIP tours of the Port, and scheduled engagements with the community. They will also be part of maintaining the five-year Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Plan for the Channel Upgrade Project.

Candidates should be communications, journalism, marketing, and public affairs graduates with over three years’ related experience, most particularly community engagement activities. They should be valid bearers of a Queensland Open Driver’s Licence and Maritime Security Identification Card, and have passed state police clearance.

The person will be in charge of Australia for UNHCR’s communications/public affairs engagement with stakeholders and key sectors, including the dissemination of relevant content.

They will also closely liaise with the Board and National Director on thought leadership activities, as well as the UNHCR and its satellite offices around the world.

The ideal candidate should be graduates of PR, journalism, communications, or marketing courses with over ten years’ experience. This includes proven competence in, among others, Australia media relations, stakeholder development, conducting interviews, and digital media.

Candidates with strong understanding and actual experience in the humanitarian aid circuit are also considered.
