The national security editor is tasked with regularly producing and editing content for The Strategist, and doing other related matters. They may also be assigned by the ASPI executive director, defence and national security director, and the executive editor on special projects, and will be required to participate in ASPI activities.

Applicants for the post must be distinguished graduates of courses relevant to defence and security, and have at least three years’ work experience in a major media outlet, especially print publications. The person must be highly adept in writing, editing, and data analysis, and can work with minimal supervision. The application packet must comprise a one-page cover letter detailing qualifications and a CV with two contact references.
