Ideas International Wins AIIA's First Ever NSW iAwards for

Sustainability and Green IT

SYDNEY, Australia, 9 April, Ideas International (ASX:IDE) has today won the NSW Sustainability and Green IT iAward for its Server CAR submission. The iAwards are Australia's ICT industry awards. The AIIA runs the iAwards as the Australian member of the Asia-Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA).

Server CAR (Server Consolidation Analysis Resource) and its accompanying Carbon Calculator, released in October 2008, is an online service designed to perform rapid server consolidation studies with a key focus on deriving and quantifying space, energy and carbon emission reductions. Through an extensive database of over 14,000 server options, Server CAR allows users to select the best server consolidation option, with upfront results on reduced power and cooling costs and server numbers. Server CAR algorithms leverage IDEAS unique Relative Performance estimate (RPE2) to enable a rapid cross-vendor studies.

The Sustainability and Green IT iAward has being presented for the first time in 2009 to recognise outstanding technology innovation that delivers improved environmental outcomes. Entries were judged on uniqueness, marketability, features, quality and application. Winners of the state iAwards will go on to compete at the national awards which will be announced at the iAwards gala dinner on 27 May 2009.
