The King’s Tribune shuts down production
By Briana Healey in Media News on Friday, 26th September 2014 at 3:47pmIndependent media outlet The King’s Tribune will cease publishing as a commercial entity but the masthead will continue as a “volunteer” online project.
Editor and co-founder Jane Gilmore announced in a statement to readers that the seven-year-old Melbourne publication will continue online, with the $8.95 print magazine now defunct.
“I’m more sad about this than I can say, I’ve fought for years to keep The Tribune going, but the combination of time and money it requires to do that has become more than I can manage,” Gilmore said.
The King’s Tribune sold no advertising space and was funded entirely through reader subscriptions.
