We are currently looking for a Senior Consultant with proven PR/communications experience to join our ranks you will be based in Sydney but potentially working on interstate and national clients.

Day to Day…

You will be working within a results orientated, intelligent team that will help guide you through your communications career. As a Senior Consultant you will responsible for implementing agreed communication campaigns and projects.  You will have an Account Director to guide you and consultants to help you exceed your client's expectations.  You will be writing media releases, producing content, pitching to media, running social media campaigns, reporting and working closely with both your clients and the PPR team. All this and so much more each day will see you learning from some of the best in the industry.

What are we looking for?

Degree qualified PR professional with a minimum of 2 years agency experience (degree does not necessarily need to be in PR, Journalism or communications)
Corporate/B2B and tech experience within an agency environment is a must
Intelligence and initiative – you are switched on and don't wait around to be told what to do
Demonstrated strong writing skills
Excellent time management skills and the ability to juggle conflicting priorities
Passionate about all communications channels – comfortable working with print, digital, social and WOM
A good understanding of the media landscape
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients
An all-rounder who is able to work across multiple clients from various industries
Outstanding track record in achieving results for clients
A team player and a self-starter who is able to mentor junior team members
Impeccable communication skills - both written and verbal
'Out of the box' creative thinking
Appetite to develop skills beyond media relations and into areas across Owned Earned and Bought communications

We are looking for an experienced PR professional or experienced media professional/journalist who believes in communications and its ability to make a difference. We’re looking for the right fit: whether you're already working in PR, have a background in journalism or another related industry, or even if you’re looking to start a career or take the next step in one, we’d like to have a chat.



Clients include well-known multi-national and local organisations in enterprise and consumer technology, sustainability, cybersecurity, arts and entertainment, and more.


We work with mainstream and trade media; create digital content and develop and advise on partner, customer and internal communications; and manage social media platforms for spokespeople and companies. We work very collaboratively and support and challenge each other every day.


Applicants should have:
Excellent written and verbal communications
Experience with and understanding of the A/NZ media landscape
Interest in and knowledge of digital media
Experience working directly with and managing clients
Strong attention to detail
Four to seven years’ experience in the media industry at a senior level; two to four years at consultant level; or 1-2 years at assistant consultant level


Roles and responsibilities may include (pending the role you fit):
Management of multiple client comms programs and campaigns
Working directly with media, analysts, influencers and other key stakeholders
Providing strategic client program management
Working with the Watterson senior team in new business development and generation
Managing communications/PR programs from the ground up and executing strategic programs
